BE GENEROUS
WITH YOUR TEAM – Winning Them and Keeping Them
At the beginning of the summer my eNews topics talked about
the importance of leisure and time off, as well as the
importance of outsourcing and/or systems for HR and team
management.
Now that we’re at the end of summer I’m wondering how you’ve
managed?
The summer months are often difficult in trying to manage
and schedule time off and vacation for yourself, as well as
scheduling time off and vacations for your team members.
Of course, some of you reading this don’t have team members
to manage, but that adds a different kind of stress to your
summer.
Whether your situation has been managing staff vacations or
needing to find staff to help manage your own time off,
you should now be very clear about the importance of having
good staff and treating your team members well.
The difficulty is in managing all the necessary tasks
related to HR and team management. This can begin to seem
like an overwhelming, full-time job (and as your firm grows,
it should become a full-time job for ‘someone’). This can be
so overwhelming that many practitioners stay away from
hiring staff until they have no other workable options left.
It doesn’t have to be that way. Please look at and study the
most vital key to managing your team (master this and you
will have a very successful practice): Be generous.
Be generous financially.
Be generous with praise.
Be generous with rewards.
Be generous with recognition.
Be generous with respect.
Be generous with training.
Be generous with benefits.
Be generous with caring.
Be generous with dignity.
These are the characteristics and gifts of an authentic and
powerful leader.
These are the kinds of generosity that will reap benefits of
loyalty and high performance from your team
members.
If you are thinking that your time and energy is divided in
too many areas already, to be effective at winning and
keeping your team, you are not alone. You have options.
Please consider one of the following options to help you
manage your team:
HR Coach
Hire me as your HR Coach on an as need basis! I will work
with you on assessing the current state of your HR and
QAM issues. I will make a proposal for you regarding the
issues I believe should be completed and you decide if we
move forward on it.
My proposal to you offers a 20% discount of my fees for any
firm who would like an initial assessment about where your
firm stands on its HR and QAM issues.
I would love to be your HR Coach. This is an area where many
firms are either spending too much time and their own
resources, or not enough time and could possibly pay the
price for it.

TRI-DAY [Team Rally + Integration Day]
Is your team needing some new inspiration? Do they need some
new reasons to work well together? Are things around the
office either too new or too stale? Do you see some
potential problems or just want to be the best team you can
be?
A TRI-Day will offer your team the opportunity to come
away from the work day and integrate with each other in a
relaxed and fun atmosphere. We can cover many topics or
focus on a specific issue.
A typical TRI-Day Agenda includes:
Have fun and relax!
Laugh with each other.
Play interactive learning games. (It gets very interesting
...)
Discuss critical issues.
Improve performance tasks.
Create strategic plans.
Improve morale.
Integrate standards.
Engage in brainstorming
Know your SWOT's [Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and
Threats].
Did I mention have fun?
The firm will be provided with an anonymous feedback
analysis compiled from each team member. Your team will
enjoy the session and you'll be able to see the changes!
Business Coach
In my work, a business coach is ‘one who instructs
accounting professionals in the fundamentals of a
competitive business and directs team strategy!'
I can make a positive, measurable impact in firms whether
it’s working a few hours a month, 1 day a week, or even once
every quarter.
Every engagement is customized to fits the needs of your
firm.
I would love to work with you and your firm to help you make
and keep a successful team.
