PASSION IS
EVERYTHING, BUT IT’ S NOT ENOUGH - What Does Your Firm Need?
Here are some tough questions that you may get asked from clients,
from prospects, from me, and/or even from yourself sometimes:
What makes your firm so special?
What are your best skills or abilities?
Are you an amazing tax specialist or a phenomenal business
advisor or an awesome accountant?
Why should someone choose you to work with their business?
What can YOU do for THEM?
The answer “I have a great passion” is not exactly the answer
someone is looking for when asking these questions.
But it is part of it.
Your passion helps create the impressions you give when you interact
with clients, prospects, and everyone in general.
It will very much tell a story, whether you want it to or not, about
who you are and what you’re about.
Passion will tell a wonderful, compelling story and guide you
towards greatness, but you also need to back up the story with real
value.
You need real talent, skills, abilities, technology, resources,
systems, time, motivation, confidence, inspiration, and
determination.
Please listen to me clearly here:
I am not telling you that you are not doing enough.
I
am not telling you that you are sadly lacking or falling behind.
I
am NOT asking you to do more.
I
think you do more than enough already.
I’m
asking if I can help.
I will come into to your firm and be your coach, YOUR BUSINESS
COACH!!
Define “Coach”: one who instructs or trains: one who
instructs players in the fundamentals of a competitive sport and
directs team strategy
Why do sports teams have a coach?
Basically, the simple answer is, the sports players themselves get
so caught up in the game and the action going on around them, that
it’s hard to accurately assess how well they’re doing, how well the
game is going, how strategy should be directed and implemented,
who’s got unique talents and where should they be used, etc.
The coach is someone who can assess all the players and know each of
their abilities, clearly see and understand the big picture of the
game and how it’s progressing, and be someone who is invested and
committed to making the team play better, and play to succeed.
In my work, a business coach is ‘one who instructs
accounting professionals in the fundamentals of a competitive
business and directs team strategy!
The nature of my work with accounting professional has afforded me
titles such as:
HR Coach;
Partnership Coach;
CRO – Chief Results Officer;
Business Coach; and
Team Member.
I will make a positive, measurable impact in firms whether it’s
working a few hours a month, 1 day a week, or even once every
quarter.
Every engagement is customized to fits the needs of your firm.
Consider these important questions I ask most of my clients:
What are you doing really well in your work/life right now?
What do you want MORE of?
What do you want LESS of?
I’m
asking if I can help.
